Bridget Carle
She/Her/Hers
Bridget Carle is a vice president on Swiss Re’s Public Sector Solutions team, forging partnerships with public entities and designing risk transfer solutions to alleviate financial exposures related to food systems, health risks, and natural catastrophes.
Prior to rejoining Swiss Re, she was with the Rockefeller Foundation where she was a senior program officer on the foundation’s Food Initiative, focusing on the foundation’s global strategy to advance a more nourishing and sustainable food system. There she conceptualized and constructed their ‘Food is Medicine’ investment portfolio, which seeks to integrate nutrition into the US healthcare system to shift diets, improve clinical outcomes, and reduce costs.
Carle had a long tenure on Swiss Re’s public-private partnerships team beforehand. She was the client manager for Central America, the Caribbean, and the World Bank from 2013 to 2016 and then as a consultant to the Americas team from 2016 to 2018 while obtaining her master’s degree. She first joined Swiss Re in 2010 as an associate on the Risk and Short-Term Funding desk before discovering her passion for helping to make governments more resilient. Throughout her time at Swiss Re, Carle worked on the creation and execution of more than a dozen government solutions, including the world’s first pandemic bond and extreme weather coverages for more than 15 Caribbean countries.
Bridget holds a bachelor’s degree in financial management from Clemson University and a master’s degree in food policy and nutrition science from the Friedman School at Tufts University.
