Our senior director
Jorge Gastelumendi is a recognized climate leader with over two decades of experience. His depth of expertise is substantial, having served as chief advisor and negotiator to the government of Peru during the adoption of the Paris Agreement with direct contributions to the text of the agreement. He has also co-chaired the Green Climate Fund’s board, served as managing director of external affairs for global strategies at the Nature Conservancy, and was a carbon fund manager at the World Bank’s Carbon Finance Unit.

Given the scope and scale of the challenges we face, we cannot solve them alone. We collaborate with the most seasoned partners and experts in the world to create the enabling conditions that allow for success in local and global efforts.
Our center was founded in 2019 through the support and visionary leadership of Ms. Adrienne Arsht. She spearheaded the creation of the Adrienne Arsht-Rockefeller Foundation Resilience Center at the Atlantic Council, which was renamed the Atlantic Council’s Climate Resilience Center in 2024.
Since our foundation, we have built on her vision and mission to support people and build a more resilient society. She has also founded other centers at the Atlantic Council, including the Adrienne Arsht Latin America Center.
