Alex Cartwright is a Young Global Professional at the Adrienne Arsht-Rockefeller Foundation Resilience Center. Alex supports Arsht-Rock’s Extreme Heat Initiative, Monitoring and Evaluation workstream, and Video Game Initiative through research and writing, data analysis and visualization, and administrative assistance. Within the Extreme Heat Initiative, he works to identify city partnerships for the City Champions for Heat Action program.
Prior to entering the Young Global Professionals program with Arsht-Rock, Alex worked as a water resource analyst at The Water Center at Penn, conducting research on water system infrastructure, policy, and funding, as well as working on a Stormwater Strategic Plan for the City of Pittsburgh. Alex also held a design fellowship at PennPraxis, supporting the Farm of the Future initiative that explored riparian agroforestry and watershed-scale land use dynamics.
Alex is currently completing master’s degrees in City and Regional Planning and Environmental Studies at The University of Pennsylvania. He holds a BS in Mechanical Engineering and a minor in Economics from The University of Texas at Austin.
