The urgent need for climate finance
Climate change is not only a threat to survival, but it is also an increasing threat to financial stability and growth. Even communities with robust disaster risk finance or climate insurance in place can face staggering losses in the wake of a climate-induced shock or stress.
However, many communities do not have adequate protection or investment to build resilience. The protection gap is a growing concern, and the gap itself is growing with the increasing intensity and frequency of disasters.
Arsht-Rock is working with financial and insurance sector partners to catalyze change within private financial industries to mobilize the response to the growing climate crisis. From loss and damage to disaster risk finance, there is a range of robust financial protection strategies that allow communities to respond more resiliently to disasters.
This collection explores how, through innovative new approaches, financial, investment, and insurance stakeholders can motivate climate mitigation and adaptation.
In the spotlight
At COP28, Arsht-Rock and its partners launched the Call for Collaboration, an invitation to governments and key stakeholders to mobilize private finance for adaptation and resilience.
