The planet is burning. In the face of excessive heat waves and the sustained stress of constant heat, growing public health threats, melting infrastructure, inequitable access to cooling, wildfires, and prolonged droughts, the time to mobilize investment in cooling solutions is now.
Arsht-Rock, with support from the Rockefeller Foundation, JPMorgan Chase & Co, ClimateWorks, Marsh McLennan, and IFC, will announce the launch of the Cool Capital Stack—the first-ever investment portfolio dedicated to scaling investment in cooling solutions to protect people, communities, and local economies from extreme heat, with a particular focus on helping the world’s most vulnerable. The portfolio of projects will include both passive and mechanical cooling solutions, and new technologies that protect lives and livelihoods, promote health risk reduction, and increase resilience to the impacts of extreme heat.
During this event, we will share how the Cool Capital Stack will fill the financing gap, specifically in addressing the insidious impacts of extreme heat by harnessing the full capital continuum. We will discuss innovative ways to unlock and blend traditional debt and equity, concessional, risk-transfer, insurance, and philanthropic capital to deliver economic, social, public health, and other benefits to people and communities.
